Materials were the gift of the author, possibly deposited together with the photographs and biographical information on May 22, 1952. The biographical sketch by Vicki Holston was added ca.1964-1965. The copy of her children’s play Magic Gifts, written with Karin Sundelof Asbrand and published in 1927, was added in 2023. In 2023, the decision was made to unite the manuscripts 025, 026, and the two folders labeled #12 and #17 into one collection, MS 25 Ruby Radford Papers. Ruby Lorraine Radford was a native and resident of Augusta, Georgia. She authored more than 50 works, often based around Georgia history. Many of her works featured females as lead protagonists. Radford is credited with being a co-founder of the Augusta Authors Club, and was honored as Author of the Year by the Dixie Council of Authors and Journalists in 1969.
