Biographical / Historical

The collection was donated to the Augusta-Richmond County Public Library in 2014 by the creator. Joyce Poole had a special interest in family history, spending many years in genealogical research. She served as Registrar for the College Hill Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and The Rev. Pierre Robert Chapter, National Society Daughters of Colonial Dames of the Seventeenth Century. In 2005, she published a book entitled "A Heard Family Record-Based History, The Five Generations in America". Many articles by Joyce about family history were published in historical society publications and in the "Magazine of Virginia Genealogy". (The Augusta Chronicle January 1, 2019 p.7)
