Transferred from the Augusta Public Library.

Edward J. Cashin (1927-2007), the author of the publication, was one of the leading historians for Georgia history. Much of his scholarly work was based in Augusta history. He was a revered professor of history at Augusta University from 1969-1996. He then went on to found the Center for the Study of Georgia History.

The Sacred Heart Cultural Center, housed in the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church, hosts cultural, civic and private events and celebrates history, art, and architecture through education.
