Scope and Contents
Material covers ephemera, an oversize postcard, photocopies, reproductions of photographs and publications relating mainly to Georgia and South Carolina railroads. The majority of the items are commemorative envelopes or post cards issued by the Augusta Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society. Some items are from other sources Included are the Central of Georgia Railway Company, The Freedom Train to Augusta, Georgia, the Louisville and Wadley Railroad, Seaboard Coastline Railroad (Florence South Carolina to Augusta Georgia), Hamburg South Carolina, McDuffie County Georgia, Santa Fe Super Chief (Inaugural of Daily Service [Los Angles] to Chicago), Statesboro Northern Railroad, Autumn Leaves Cannonball, and Southern. Also included is a first day cover for the South Carolina Tricentennial and a commemorative envelope for the twentieth anniversary of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission Savannah River Plant. The post card shows Georgia Railroad Engine 302 outside the old Augusta Museum (old Academy of Richmond County building), Instructions for building a model railway size Enterprise Mill, Augusta Georgia.

Albert M. Langley Jr. is a writer and photographer who resides in North Augusta, South Carolina. He has been a member and national director of the National Railway Historical Society and a past-president of the South Augusta Historical Society.
