Opened in 1987, the purpose of the Joel Cowan History Room is to collect and preserve documents and artifacts pertaining to the formation and history of the City of Peachtree City and its environs. Materials contained therein represent the City's various developers, marketing efforts, and City government departments. In addition, the collection includes materials from various civic organizations and clubs, including their publications and other published materials. Formats in the collection include print, audio materials, and visual materials (photographs, maps, drawings, and paintings), and textiles.
