Lisa Ann Pertillar-Brevard papers
The collection consists materials collected about African American scholar and artist Lisa Ann Pertillar-Brevard dating from 1986 to 1996 including biographical information, newspaper and magazine articles on a variety of subjects including education, copies of periodicals and publications to which she has contributed, publications of the University of Maryland that pertain to African American issues, and various brochures and pamphlets.

Long-Playing (LP) Record Collection
The Collection contains around 200 records which are largely musical but also includes non-musical recordings. The musical recordings include a wide variety of genres including rock, pop, rap, jazz, blues, gospel, and classical. The composers and/or performers, as well as the compositions, provide examples of African-American contributions to the field of music. The non-musical recordings are speeches, stories, debates, etc.
Lorenzo Benn papers
The Lorenzo Benn papers consist of biographical information, correspondence, financial records, publications, legislative works, and photographs. There is also a desk plate and funeral program of Lorenzo Benn.

Mabel Vernon Alford Collection
The Mabel Vernon Alford Photograph collection consists of pages of a scrapbook full of photos from the 1920s to the 1930s. Many of the individuals are unidentified and the location of the photographs are also unknown.
This collection offers a visual representation of black life in and around Chattanooga and Atlanta in the first half of the 20th century. This scrapbook includes short poems and small snapshots of young people and family members of Alford.
Marguerite F. Simon papers
The papers consist of an assortment of periodicals including Life, Ebony, and New York magazine, books, sheet music, and news clippings. The sheet music dates from 1906 to 1932, and the articles, books, and newsclippings, dated from 1968 to 1985, treat Martin Luther King, Jr., Spelman College, Atlanta University, African American life, and history.
Mary Parks Washington papers
The collection consists of the personal papers of Mary Parks Washington. The collection is primarily comprised of newspaper clippings, art exhibit announcements, photographs, correspondence, photo albums and scrapbooks. These materials document Washington's work as a visual artist, arts educator, and arts advocate; her lifelong educational pursuits; her friendships with artists; and her participation in civic and community service organizations.
